#### Probably an unreasonable dream for someone who still gets lost in their home city
I’d love to go someplace new and instinctually know it like a local. The Internet, with its maps, blogs, tips and tricks — helps a lot. But it’s clunky, touristy.
I wish the maps, the tips, all of it, was all in my head.
*I want to know the whole world like the back of my hand*
Could you imagine? The amount of life you could drink in if everywhere was instantly, seamlessly laid bare to you?
I can. It’d be *a bit* *rubbish*, actually.
It would destroy the magic of exploration. Of discovery — sifting gems from the shit.
After all that’s why we travel, isn’t it? The places we *are* local to, they aren’t fun anymore, are they? So if we were local to the whole world, why bother?
But, I *do* wish I could remember all that I discover. In fact I wish I could return to any place I’d ever been and guide others through it deftly, and I wish others could do the same for me.
I’d say that’s the perfect balance between the magic of exploration and drinking all life has to offer. All wistful thinking of course — I don’t remember IF I ate breakfast today, much less what it may or may not have been.
Besides — speaking of drinking, it’s definetly time for another Guiness. When in Ro… Ireland, ey?
Maybe it *would* be nice to have a seventh sense for the best bars around…
Or just bars in general. That’d do me!
